I am a hopeless romantic at heart!  I am a charming, passionate, kind, considerate, fun loving man with a tremendous zest for life.  I revel in sharing the poignant moments of life with other special people.  I appreciate another’s point of view even if it differs from my own.  I suppose I am a bit of an idealist as I cherish truth, honor and courage and search out others that also hold these values near and dear to their hearts (nothing ventured, nothing gained).  Having said all that, I'm a rebel at heart and always root for the underdog!

We started going steady on June 30th, 2010, after our second date at the Pizzicato Pizza in Beaverton.

We got engaged at La Perla Pizzeria in Eugene on June 29th, 2012, while drinking a bottle of Prosecco.

I am a very passionate and motivated person.  I love people, music, art, travel, and just life in general!!  My biggest passion is spending time at my grand piano writing songs and singing.  I have worked very hard in life to enjoy some of the finer things, but these days I'm seeking more balance as a freelance software developer and singer/songwriter... with more time for family, friends, travel, making my home beautiful, and more.  I am an eternal optimist and have worked through a few setbacks in life, always seeing the positive and maintaining a soft, full heart!

The qualities that attract me are a highly intelligent person with huge integrity, strong values, and a generous nature!  I admire confidence, ambition, and someone who has had some successes in life, as well as having learned from some mistakes or setbacks.  Compassion and some sentiment are required.  I am fairly independant and have my own strong interests, but am very much a team player in love.  I am quick witted and love to chat about so many fun and interesting things.  I am extremely driven in life.  But I am also very compassionate and have great emotional depth.

I love to work on my 1940's house, doing some light home improvement, painting, finding fun things to decorate it with, or having friends over for a dinner or music party.  I love to go places... a drive or walk somewhere pretty during the day, a music event, theatre, party or function at night... or just cozy at home with a movie rental.  I enjoy golf, skiing, and occasional travel... especially abroad. I am very confident and adventuresome... but NOT a thrill seeker, scuba diver, back packer, runner, or such.  My idea of camping is a B & B! I've had a couple of close calls in cars (not my fault!) so if you are not a safe driver, I am not interested!

I love having fun in the city... but am happiest with a home that has a peaceful, nurturing vibe.  I'm only interested in meeting quality people with strong character, emotional intelligence, who treat all people with respect and kindness, and are completely trustworthy.  I spend time in Eugene & Portland, OR, or outside Sacramento, CA with my grandson and extended family.  I could be comfortable living near any of those locations. My current interest is in meeting new people.  If there is a spark... well maybe more.  My long term goal is to be married forever to my best friend.

for fun: I love many things from intimate house concerts to the symphony, dinner parties with friends, going wine tasting, or an occasional live sports event.  I also love just relaxing at home, with a movie or a great fire.

favorite hot spots: Love a great hole in the wall restaurant, and occasional weekend getaways to a quaint little town, and some travel adventures from time to time... anything from Pismo Beach, CA to somewhere fabulous like Paris or Venice!

favorite things: I have a wide array of interests. I'd love someone to share a few with but also think it's nice to have a few separate interests.  I love music of all types, not too much TV, and am just open to hanging out quietly and relaxing.

last read: I'm a collector of books, especially autobiographies and biographies.  I'm usually reading 3 or 4 at a time, but only occasionally finishing one all the way through!  Have "Life with Pop" and "What Would Audrey Do?" on my nightstand at the moment.
